Free Bet Blackjack Online

Online casinos offer a variety of bonuses. Deposit bonuses, free spins, and no deposit offers are among the most-popular deals.

Minimum blackjack bets at the major US online casinos are usually $1 (much lower than the $5 or $10 minimums live) but can go as low as 10 cents! PokerStars NJ Casino, partypoker NJ and 888 Casino are just a few of the online operators that offer online blackjack in New Jersey, for example. Online Blackjack Multi-Player. Mat a bet to play against the dealer. You and the dealer will get two starting cards, as in standard blackjack. You may also make a bet on the optional Pot of Gold wager. You may free split any pairs, except for 10-value cards. Free re-splitting is allowed. You may free double any two-card hard 9, 10, or 11.

Free bets are also common at plenty of internet casinos. These offers essentially allow you to place a free wager on live-dealer blackjack.

A free bet isn't quite as lucrative as a deposit bonus in terms of overall money. But is it still worth pursuing? I'll discuss more on free wagers below along with if they're ultimately worthwhile.

How Do Free Bets Work?

The term 'free bet' implies that you don't have to risk anything. However, the reality is that you do need to make a deposit and bet your own money.

Assuming you win the wager, then you'll collect the winnings and continue playing as normal.

If you lose, though, you have an opportunity to earn back the losses.

Here's an example on how a free wager might play out:

  • An online/live dealer casino is offering a $25 free blackjack bet.
  • You place the minimum deposit and qualify for the offer.
  • You make the $25 bet and lose.
  • You're now eligible to earn back the $25 in losses.

Terms and Conditions Apply

Live-dealer casinos don't just hand back losses from a free bet. Instead, they expect you to earn the funds by satisfying terms and conditions.

The main term that you need to be aware of is playthrough (a.k.a. rollover). You must wager a certain multiple of your loss to get the money back.

Rollover on free bets can range anywhere from 1x in the best case to 20x in the worst case. You want to look for offers that feature lower playthrough so that you'll earn the money back faster.

Here's a comparison between two deals to show why rollover is so important:

Offer #1

  • You qualify for a $25 free bet.
  • Playthrough is 15x.
  • 25 x 15 = $375 must be wagered

Offer #2

  • You qualify for a $25 free bet.
  • Playthrough is 5x.
  • 25 x 5 = $125 must be wagered

Of course, playthrough isn't the only term that casinos expect you to satisfy.

Here are other important T&C‘s to look for when trying to earn your money:

Free Bet Blackjack Strategy

  • Maximum bet – You can't wager over a certain amount (e.g. $50) until rollover is satisfied.
  • Claim the offer – You must visit your account and claim the bet before it expires.
  • Playthrough timeframe – Casinos only give you so long to meet rollover.

How Much Value Do Free Bets Offer?

Free bets are usually a specific promotion for an online casino's live-dealer games. Again, they aren't as lucrative as a deposit bonus.

The main problem with free wagers is that they don't provide very much money. Most of the deals I see only offer up to $25.

The second drawback involves the fact that you actually have to lose to benefit. If you win the bet, then you don't get anything from the deal except your winnings.

Free wagers are more like insurance that anything else. Going further, they're insurance with work involved after the fact.

You don't receive the money from your losses immediately. You instead need to satisfy playthrough and other relevant terms and conditions.

A free bet does offer some value if it's the best deal available in a given situation. Assuming you're going to try live blackjack, then you might as well do it with a free wager on the table.

The big thing that you need to prepare yourself for is what's involved after a loss. You want to understand T&Cs going into the matter.

I highly suggest that you read the terms behind any of these offers before pursuing them. This way, you can judge whether a deal is fair in terms of playthrough, max bets, and more.

What Blackjack Bonuses Can You Pursue Instead?

You can see that free online real money blackjack bets have their pros and cons. The biggest downside is simply that you won't make much money through them.

That said, you may wonder what other types of blackjack bonuses are available. Here are other deals that you can look forward to at gaming sites.

Deposit Bonus

Most online casinos base their deposit bonuses on slots. In other words, you have to meet rollover through slots alone.

However, some gaming sites also feature bonuses that are specifically for blackjack and other table games. You make a deposit and satisfy playthrough with any approved games.

These bonuses are worth a match percentage of your deposit amount. For example, you might get a 100% match on your deposit worth up to $200.

The nice thing about these deals is that they don't force you to play live blackjack. You can also enjoy virtual online blackjack on your phone as well.

The drawback, though, is that you must meet higher playthrough than with a slots bonus. If slots rollover is 30x, then the casino might want you to satisfy 100x playthrough with blackjack.

Online blackjack typically features a much lower house as than the average slot. This aspect is the reason for the higher rollover.

Welcome Bonus

A welcome bonus can include a variety of offers, ranging from free bets to free spins.

Simply put, though, it typically entails a large deposit bonus or series of bonuses.

Again, some gaming sites only offer such deals with regard to slots.

But other casinos feature separate welcome packages for slots and table game gamblers.

Here's an example of a blackjack/table game offer that includes multiple bonuses:

  • Table game welcome bonus worth up to $500.
  • 100% match on first deposit worth up to $100.
  • 75% match on second deposit worth up to $150.
  • 50% match on third deposit worth up to $250.

Reload Bonus

After depositing at a casino, you're either going to earn the welcome bonus money or fall short. In either case, this initial deal will be exhausted at some point.

Reload bonuses give you an opportunity to earn more money after the welcome offer is gone. 21 blackjack game online.

They work like standard deposit bonuses in most aspects. The only difference is that reload offers are typically weaker than welcome bonuses.

The average reload bonus features a lower match percentage and maximum amount of money.

For instance, the welcome deal might offer a 100% match on your first deposit worth up to $1,000. A reload bonus, in contrast, may only feature a 75% match up to $150.

VIP Rewards

Online casinos are just like land-based casinos in that they give out loyalty rewards. You qualify for VIP benefits as soon as you start playing real-money games at most sites.

Cashback is the most-common loyalty reward at internet casinos. You can exchange the points you earn from blackjack and other games for cash.

Other deals that may be available include deposit bonuses, free slots spins, a dedicated VIP host, and merchandise.

Are Free Blackjack Bets Worth Going For?

Reel deal slots free. The online gaming world is full of different offers. Therefore, you don't have to settle on a free bet if you want to earn lots of bonus cash.

After all, free wagers don't give you the opportunity to collect much money. You're typically looking at the chance to win back $25 after losing your first bet.

But then again, I'm not saying that these offers are completely worthless.

They give you an opportunity to at least win some real money online gambling.

This aspect is important if you're really interested in live dealer blackjack. After all, most free bets revolve around the live dealer version.

You should merely view a free wager as a small token of appreciation for you trying a live/online casino. You won't make serious money from these offers, but you can earn something from the deal.

Conclusion

Online casinos commonly offer free bets to encourage you to try live-dealer blackjack and other live games. These deals give you an opportunity to win back possible losses from your first bet.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to make much off free wagers. I commonly see bets worth $25 or less. You're better off pursuing a deposit bonus if you want the most money possible.

Nevertheless, free bets are worthwhile if you want to play live blackjack and have no other bonus options. At least this way, you can win back around $25, or so, in the event of a losing first wager.

What is Free Bet Blackjack?

Have you ever set foot in a casino playing your favorite game of blackjack and got offered that someone else pays for your bets, while you collect the winnings? You wish, right?! Well, Free Bet Blackjack does exactly what it says: a chance to play on someone else's money!

While you will still need to put up your own cash for the initial wager, you'll get to make double-downs and splits for free, increasing your potential wins. Of course, there are some negative rule to compensate for that, such as dealer's becoming a Push and not bust. Nevertheless, Free Bet Blackjack, one of the newest blackjack games, is really fun and it is one of the most popular blackjack variants.

Btw, it was invented by the same guy that created Blackjack Switch and Zappit Blackjack – Geoff Hall. It first appeared in Vegas in 2012, but since then it spread across the globe. Unfortunately, it is not available for online play so in order to benefit from free bet financing you'll have to walk into a land-based casino. We assume it will become available online in 2017.

What Is Free Bet Blackjack

Before we dive into details, you should know that Free Bet blackjack odds are 98.96% (house edge of 1.04%). That's definitely below some of the lowest house edge blackjack games, but we are here to have fun. So if you like this game, you should play it. Just play it right.

Free Bet Rules

Regardless of whether you've got tons of experience with this popular table game or have just started understanding the basics, you should find it relatively easy to play this variant. Many of the standard rules apply and quite a few will work in your favor.

  • Playing with six decks
  • Dealer hits on soft 17's
  • Blackjack pays the standard 3 to 2
  • You can double after a split
  • You can double on two cards only
  • You can re-split to four hands, aces included!
  • Surrender is not allowed

So what's different? Regular (paid for) doubles are allowed on all two-card hands except hard 9's, 10's and 11's. In case of the latter, your wager will be matched with a free double and you'll receive 1 additional card. Should the dealer win this hand, you'll only lose your original wager. If it ends in a push, you'll get back what you wagered. However, if you win, on top of your wager you'll get winnings equal to double that amount.

Free Splits are available when you're holding a hand of any pairs except 10's and 4's (and you'd probably wouldn't want to split these anyway). Your original wager is placed on one of the split hands while the other receives a free bet. Each of them is eligible for a free double or a free split. Should you win, your free bet tokens will deliver chips equaling the original bet.

There is one minor catch to this game: if dealer busts on 22 while you're holding 21 or less, your wager is a push.

Free Bet Blackjack Strategy and Tips

Having in mind the specificity of this game, one general advice is to accept any free double and free split opportunity you get.

Other than that, and keeping in mind that dealer hits on soft 17's, your regular blackjack strategy should apply. Always hit on hard 9 – 11 (except 9 vs dealer's 10), stand on hard 12 vs dealer's 4-6 and hit on hard 13-16 only if dealer holds 7 or higher. Always stand on hard 17 or more and hit on soft 17. Stand on soft 18 unless the dealer reveals 9, 10 or an ace. Whenever you're holding soft 19 or more, stick with it.

Free doubles aside, you should also double down on hard 9 against dealer's 3-6 and do the same on soft 13-19 vs dealer's 6. As far as splits go, the ones we'd recommend are already included in the freebies offer.

Free Bet Blackjack comes with many rules in your favor and really only one against, with dealer pushing on 22. As we've mentioned before, that brings the house edge to 1.04%.
